Introducing Firezone Business: our most complete self-serve plan

Today we're introducing Business, our most complete self-serve plan.
Business unlocks every product feature in Firezone, including directory sync, log sinks, and the full set of device posture checks. Business is built for teams and organizations that need them to manage and secure access at scale, but do not need Enterprise extras such as annual invoicing, compliance reports, or an uptime SLA.
Business is available now for $8 per seat per month, or $80 per seat per year. See the pricing page for a full comparison of every plan.
What's included
Business includes everything in Team, plus:
- Directory sync for Google, Microsoft Entra ID, and Okta. Read more about how it works in Building reliable (and fast!) directory sync.
- Device posture checks, with integrations for providers such as Intune, Microsoft Defender, SentinelOne, and Sophos.
- Log sinks that stream audit logs to your SIEM, including Splunk, Datadog, Elastic, Microsoft Sentinel, and Amazon S3.
- Higher limits: up to 1,000 users, 200 service accounts, and 200 sites.
You can also manage your Business account as code with the Terraform provider.
How Business seats are counted
If you're upgrading from Team, you will notice that Business counts seats differently.
On Team, you control which users are in your account by adding and removing them in the admin portal, through the REST API, or with Terraform. Every user and service account in your account is a billable seat, whether or not they ever sign in.
On Business, you can connect your organization's directory and let Firezone pull users in. Since a directory often contains many people who will never use Firezone, we don't bill for everyone it contains. Instead, we bill for active seats.
An active seat is a user or service account that signed in with a Firezone Client during the previous 30 days. Here's how it works:
- Every 30 minutes, Firezone looks back over the previous 30 days and counts the unique users and service accounts that signed in from a Client.
- A user who signs in many times, or from many devices, counts as one seat.
- Syncing a user from your directory does not make them a billable seat, and neither do admin portal sessions.
Your plan has a seat limit that you set in Settings → Account. If your active seats approach that limit, we email the admins in your account in advance, so you have plenty of time to raise it.
If you reach or exceed the limit, new users are unable to sign in from a Client until you add seats. Existing active users are not affected. Increases take effect immediately and are prorated for the rest of your billing cycle, while decreases take effect at the start of the next billing cycle. The FAQ covers seat changes in more detail.
What about Enterprise?
Business and Enterprise share the same product features. Enterprise adds the services and commitments that larger organizations ask for:
- Unlimited users, service accounts, and sites
- SOC 2 and penetration test reports
- A 99.9% uptime SLA
- Dedicated Slack support and white-glove onboarding
- Annual invoicing and flexible payment methods
If you need any of those, talk to our team. Seats on Enterprise are never locked for going over your limit.
Pricing for other plans
Nothing changes for our other plans. Starter remains free forever for up to 6 users, and Team stays at $5 per seat per month or $50 per seat per year.
