Set up your Enterprise support channel

Choose Slack Connect or Microsoft Teams for your Enterprise support channel. Email support@firezone.dev with your Firezone account name, preferred platform, and participant work email addresses to start setup.

Slack Connect

Requirements

  • A Slack workspace on a paid plan that supports Slack Connect channels.
  • Permission to accept Slack Connect invitations. If your workspace restricts this permission, ask a Workspace Owner or Workspace Admin to accept the invitation.
  • An authorized approver if your workspace requires approval for new connections. Workspace Owners/Admins manage approvals on Slack Pro and Business+; Org Owners/Admins manage them on Slack Enterprise. These roles can delegate approval permissions. See Slack Connect approvals.

Join your channel

  1. Ask Firezone to create a Slack Connect channel for your organization. Channels use the naming convention cust-<customer>, for example cust-acme.
  2. Open Firezone's invitation and accept it in your organization's Slack workspace. Follow Slack's invitation instructions if you need help finding it.
  3. Have your workspace's approver approve the connection if required.
  4. Open the shared channel, add your teammates, and send a message to confirm with Firezone that you're connected.

Microsoft Teams

Requirements

  • A Microsoft 365 work or school account with Teams access for each participant. Personal Teams accounts and guest accounts can't join shared channels. See Microsoft's shared channel account requirements.
  • A Security Administrator in your Microsoft Entra tenant to configure cross-tenant access. A Teams Administrator alone can't change these settings.
  • A Teams Administrator to configure Teams policies. See Microsoft's Teams administrator roles.
  • A team owner in the hosting organization to create the shared channel. The host must enable the required Teams, Microsoft 365 Groups, and SharePoint guest access settings. See Microsoft's shared channel setup requirements.

Connect your organization

Use these details when adding Firezone to your cross-tenant access settings:

SettingValue
Domainfirezone.dev
Microsoft Entra tenant ID52e801b2-c10e-42e6-9c36-4cb95f3353d5
  1. Send Firezone your tenant ID or verified domain and an admin contact. Agree with Firezone on which organization will host the shared channel.
  2. As a Security Administrator, sign in to the Microsoft Entra admin center. Open Entra ID > External Identities > Cross-tenant access settings > Organizational settings. Select Add organization, enter firezone.dev or the tenant ID above, select Firezone, and add it.
  3. Configure B2B direct connect for Firezone. If Firezone hosts, allow Outbound access for your participants; Firezone allows inbound access. If you host, allow Inbound access for Firezone's participants; Firezone allows outbound access. Permit the Office 365 application. Follow Microsoft's B2B direct connect setup guide for the settings. Selecting specific users, groups, or applications requires Microsoft Entra ID P1 or P2.
  4. As a Teams Administrator, open the Teams admin center and select Teams > Teams policies. Enable Join external shared channels for participants joining the other organization's channel. The host must enable Create shared channels and Invite external users to shared channels for the channel creator.
  5. Once both organizations have configured access, have the host's team owner create a shared channel and add participants using their work accounts.
  6. Open the channel in Teams with your work account and send a message. Confirm with Firezone that messages are visible on both sides.
